Alejandro I shared a preview from the Shopify side and the product that Customily created on the Printify side. Isn't the thing that translates from the store to the personalized product in Printify is the production file. To me, this means that the production file is being resized in a way that makes the product ordered in Printify different than what was previewed to the customer in Shopify before they completed their order. I have to go into Printify orders and fix this manually.
Hi Ryan, Could you please provide a concrete example of the discrepancy that you faced?
Alejandro Lozdziejski preview vs what showed up in Printify. The preview is the smaller design. It's not the most different example but it's the one I captured and sent through email to Customily a couple weeks ago. It looks like Customily maximizes the design within the print area but that's not what the customer had adjusted and previewed before order. Why include sizing/positioning controls in the customization preview if in the end every image is maximized within the print area?
Ryan: I wanted to clarify that using the sizing and positioning controls does affect the print file (see the first image below). The reason the preview appears slightly smaller than the placement in the POD is that the vector placeholder has been slightly reduced for the preview. However, the placement in the print file (Step 1 in the template) remains unchanged. If you want to maintain consistency, make sure you edit the print file step, not just the preview, when creating your product. You can upload the product guidelines provided by the POD (you can add them as a dynamic image and then hide them), and adjust the position of the vector placeholder according to it.
Hi Ryan, thanks for sharing this with us. Although I'm not sure if I follow you as in you are referring to "keeping production file consistent with preview", but you shared 2 preview images. If this is a preview vs production file discrepancy, could you please share the template ID with us? If you are seeing a difference elsewhere Customily preview vs Printify thumbnail please let us know the steps you followed to obtain it. We can always continue this conversation via email at support@customily.com and benefit from a faster response time.
