Allow Deselecting from Multi-Select Swatches ❌
Managing multiple image selections just got even easier.
When using Swatch Options that Allow Multiple Selections, shoppers can now remove individual selections directly from the selected swatches, without needing to interact with the preview canvas.
Previously, removing an item depended on deleting it from the preview itself. Now, the swatches themselves provide a much more intuitive way to deselect items, giving shoppers greater control while keeping the personalization flow simple.
How to set it upThis feature follows the same setup requirements as Multi-Image Control for Dynamic Images.
Once your option is configured:
-
Go to Store Settings → Styles → Swatch Styles.
-
Enable Allow deleting from Multiselect Swatch Option.
-
Save your changes.
That's it! Your shoppers will now be able to remove any selected swatch directly from the option, without interacting with the preview canvas.
Currently available only for Shopify stores
New Feature: Text Cutout!
Create eye-catching text effects with the new Text Cutouts option.
Think of it as the opposite of Text as Mask. Instead of filling your text with the image below, Text Cutouts cuts the text out of the image, creating a transparent window through the artwork.
⚙️ How to Set it Up:
-
Add a Text Box
-
Add an Image Placeholder or Dynamic Image directly UNDER the text box element
-
Set up Text Cutout from the Advanced Section
This effect is perfect for bold typography and designs where you want the background image to take center stage.
Text Cutouts are fully compatible with:
-
Image Placeholders
-
Dynamic Images
Insert Fixed Text Between Characters & Words
We’ve expanded our fixed text options with Between Characters and Between Words. Just like Prefix and Suffix, these new fields automatically insert fixed letters, symbols, or words, but this time between your shoppers’ input words.
This lets shoppers enter their text naturally while Design Studio automatically formats it for you.
Examples
-
Between Characters
-
Shopper enters: ANGEL
-
Fixed Between Characters: .
-
Result: A.N.G.E.L
-
-
Between Words
-
Shopper enters: Angel Joshua Peter Richard
-
Between Words: ♥
-
Result: Angel ♥ Joshua ♥ Peter ♥ Richard
-
You’ll find both options under Advanced for every text element in Design Studio, including Curved Text and Warped Text.
⚠️ Disclaimer: The font used must contain a compatible character with the letter/symbol entered. If your font doesn't include the letter/symbol entered, you can always edit the font with a type software like fontforge.
🧭 New Sidebar Navigation
We’ve redesigned Customily’s navigation to make it easier to find what you need and move around the app.
Here’s what’s new:-
Everything in one place: All sections are now accessible directly from the sidebar, replacing the previous split navigation between the sidebar and the top menu.
-
Better organization: Features are grouped into Create and Manage, following the way you naturally build and manage your products.
-
Collapsible sidebar: Need more workspace? Collapse the sidebar whenever you want for a cleaner editing experience.
-
Improved onboarding: Most users will now see a dedicated Home page, providing a clearer starting point when they enter the app.
The new navigation is designed to help you access every part of Customily faster, with a more consistent and streamlined experience.
Groups for Layers and Layouts
We've added Groups, a new way to organize your templates. Select multiple layers and group them to move, copy, duplicate, lock, or hide them together, just like grouping in any standard design tool.
Group any layersSelect any set of layers and group them. A Group moves, copies, locks, and hides as one, so all the layers that make up a single element, like a product card or a logo lockup, stay together as you edit instead of drifting apart. Toggle visibility or lock the whole Group from a single row.
🚀 But for Layouts… Groups change the game 👇
The old way: one flat listUntil now, every Layout at the same level was treated as a single option set, with no way to express that some of them belonged together. A template with Layouts for Woman, Man, Dog, and Cat generated one flat option: a single dropdown listing all four, as if the customer had to pick between them all at once. But the real decision was two separate ones: gender, and pet type.
That flat structure carried straight into option-set creation and, in turn, to the buyer's screen: a single generic "Layout" question showing Man, Woman, Dog, and Cat side by side, with no logical grouping for the customer.
The new way: group it like you mean itNow you can group Layouts semantically right inside the template, and that structure carries over to option-set creation. Each Layout Group becomes its own node tied to a question in the option set, so the grouping you build in the template is exactly what your customers see when personalizing. As a bonus, the Group's name becomes the option's label automatically, with no renaming needed.
The option set creation results in two clean questions, 'Dog or Cat?' and 'Gender?', each showing only its own options and each labelled by its Group name
🎁 BONUS**:** Nest as deep as you need
This also unlocks N-level Layouts: Layout Groups can live inside other Layout Groups with no fixed limit on depth, so you can model more complex, multi-step personalization logic directly in the template structure.
🔄 Quick refresher
Layouts let you split a template into sections that show or hide depending on which option a customer picks, so layers automatically appear or disappear based on the personalization choices made on a product.
Face Cutout – Smart Face Placement (with Cutout Pro)
Customily now automatically detects the face position within a cutout image and places it precisely inside the bounding box defined in the template, centered and properly scaled, no manual adjustment needed. It even supports image rotation.
💔 The problem it solves
Previously, the placement logic used the full cutout image as reference, with no awareness of where the face actually was. This caused the face to appear too small or off-center whenever the photo had a lot of non-face area (long hair, voluminous hair, hats, etc.).
💊 How it works now
After Cutout Pro processes the image, Customily reads the face coordinates and automatically scales and positions the detected face to match the configured initial size and position.
This results in:
-
A better shopping experience.
-
Reduces the need for manual retouching before fulfillment.
Smart Face Placement result sample:
Requires a Face Cutout effect with Smart Face Placement enabled (Cutout Pro).
Layer Group Selection Now Supports Lock and Hide
The Lock and Hide actions are now available when selecting a group of layer, such as Layouts, Files, Groups, and Shopify Elements, saving you time and effort when managing complex designs and multi previews.
🎨 New Ways to Style and Display Your Swatches
We’ve introduced two new improvements to help you customize how swatches look and behave in your store:
🅰 Custom Text Swatch StylesText swatches now have their own dedicated style settings. Previously, all swatch types shared the same style configuration, making it difficult to customize text swatches independently from color and image swatches.
↔️ Horizontal Swatch SliderChoose how your swatches are displayed: keep the classic wrapped layout or switch to a horizontal slider. This helps reduce the amount of space swatches take up on your product page while creating a cleaner browsing experience.
Head over to Store Settings → Styles → Swatch Styles to try out these new options.
Available for Shopify, Etsy, and WooCommerce stores. 🚀
Add blur to your text shadows
Text shadows now support blur.
You’ll find it as a new option within the existing Shadows section, alongside the current shadow controls. Adjust blur intensity anywhere from 0% to 100% to create anything from subtle softness to dramatic glow effects.
Mix this with other text effects like Stroke and cool fonts to create mind blowing customizable texts for your products!
Perfect for neon-style designs, dreamy aesthetics, or even those wonderfully questionable bootleg-inspired throwbacks.
⏸️ Hide Option Values Temporarily
Options can now be hidden temporarily, making it easy to remove them from the customer experience without losing their configuration.
This is especially useful when:
-
A material, finish, flavor, or other option is currently out of stock but will be available again soon.
-
An option is only available during certain seasons or promotional periods.
-
You need to pause an option without rebuilding it later.
How to set it up
There are two ways to hide an option:
1. From a Library
Options managed through a Library can now be marked as Hidden or Available directly from the Library item settings. This will automatically hide or show the option value in all the Option Sets that have this library linked.
2. From an Option Set
For options that are not linked to a Library, you can now mark individual swatch or dropdown values as Hidden directly within the Option Set.
Once hidden, the option will no longer appear to customers, but all of its settings and configuration will be preserved, allowing you to make it available again at any time.
