Save Ai generated image in customization - stability

Customer uploads image that AI then alters via prompts etc.  The field where the AI image generates saves the original file uploaded by the customer.  The issue is this generated image is not SAVED.  It is regenerated each time it is needed.  Even when we download the artwork to print.  Therefore the image may change from what the customer first sees as the image constantly gets regenerated.  It also slows the system down.
